This festival permitted her to compete on its main stage when she was 12 after she had performed there every year. At the age of 10 years old, she went to Orlando to participate in the American Model and Talent Competition. The competition was won by Alaina, who beat 1,500 other kids. Alaina was a part of the Georgia Country Gospel Music Association Children's Choir. Alaina was twelve at the time she took her first and many subsequent trips to Nashville. The bar she frequented was Tootsie's bar and several other bars along Broadway. Alaina was the first to win Lake Winnepesaukah's WinniSTAR Youth Talent Contest in the year 2009. She wrote and performed many songs, which included Leaving the House, and set Me Free, as well. Alaina the cousin of Holly Witherow who suffers from a tumorous brain tumor, encouraged her to begin singing. Alaina was a CiC's Pizza employee before joining Idol. She was a student at Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe in Fort Oglethorpe Georgia and also was a cheerleader.
